Good to meet you, Pappy! What a lucky grandson!

Funny you should mention pet resorts, as we have considered that. Our furkid is a border collie, so aside from being super-sensitive (and a momma's girl) she has excessive exercise needs. Since we're still kinda new to timesharing, it made sense to us to give the pet-friendly places a visit early-on to also evaluate how well they would accomodate a family Christmas.

My understanding of the Silverleaf chain is that it attempts to serve as a local country club for those members living near. I'm anxious to see how well they accomplish that, as most of my family members also have dogs.

I'm also sensitive to the fact that non-dog people have concerns as to how well-maintained a dog-friendly property is. While I haven't been to enuf Gold Crowns to really be able to draw a line, I'll know a shredded couch if I see it! Silverleaf's have higher maint fees and do charge a pet fee, so I expect they do a good job.

We'll see!!!
