Please reconsider your Thumbs Down response.
I am concerned at your conclusion, but not surprised at your skepticism.
WASI stands for World Access Systems Inc. and has been around since 1998. CondoWorld was the timeshare resales division. The parent company was sold, and the new owners changed the business model and dropped the CondoWorld name, which was being leached by four disreputable companies in Florida, the Carolinas, and California.
You will not see bad press with either CondoWorld (in Omaha, NE) or WASI, and the company has maintained a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau all these years.
WASI no longer charges for advertising. The $49 owners pay is for estopple and vertification services. WASI is a licensed real estate brokerage and takes agency with every listing contract. Owners pay a sell commission of 10%, or a rental commission of 15%. Most properties sell or rent at 20% above average, more than covering the commission. All owners must supply copies of their ownership papers. Their resort is contacted, along with any finance company, to ensure the property is rentable or sellable and all payments are current. Once this step is complete, the property is made available to the Timeshare Information Exchange (TIX) live market feed, which is how it shows up on sites like Costco.
The only reason WASI charges for the estopple services is because listings are non-exlusive, so owners retain control of their weeks and can use them at any time. No selling, assigning, or transferring. The company is a respected Trustee in the American Resort Developers Association (ARDA).
WASI just updated its website to allow online rental and resale listings in just 5 minutes. Check out their sell page for more information. If you have additional questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call. WASI maintains a call center and every call is answered by a live person. Even RedWeek charges $49 per year for sale, $19 per 6 months for rental, both very fair prices. With WASI, there are no hidden or renewal fees, and WASI handles the entire transaction, including escrow services at no additional charge.
I respectfully request you reconsider your thumbs down.
