Lightbulb How to list and augment your Ad using FeedBurner

As always, we are out banging the Internet drum looking for more ways to augment our services. With the delivery of our RSS feeds we have made it possible for every owner interested in selling or renting their timeshare to fully capitalize on the Internet's proliferation.
Look what we did with our feed for our premium timeshare listings!!!! It took less than a minute to add this to their service, and each premium listing is now updated on their site as well.
Do you really want to help promote your ad? As a sale by owner website, we can make this information available to you, but we need your help! Here's all you have to do to get the resort you are advertising listed on FeedBurner's website.
1. Locate either the timeshare reviews web page for your resort AND/OR the web page that has the information about your timeshare for sale or rent. Use the quick search tools on the page to locate your resort in the drop down list.
2. On either of the pages you browse to, you will find an orange button labeled (RSS or XML) example: .
3. Click on this button. It will take you to a weird looking page with strange coding in it. Don't worry about the page, what you want is the URL from the address bar in your browser window. Highlight the entire string in the address bar, right click, and copy.
4. Go to the FeedBurner website. At the top of the screen you'll see the spot you want to "Paste" the link you just copied into. Paste the link by right clicking in the entry field and select paste.
6. Now click the next button. You are required to set up a username and password on their website, but you don't have to use it per say, it's just a required step and can completed on the next page.
7. Once you've chosen your username and password, you can submit the feed to their service.
That's it. It may seem daunting, but give it a try. Your best bet is to use the feed from your classified ads resort page since it will contain a direct link to your ad, but either will suffice. And if you're really motiviated, submit both the review page and the classifieds page. The more feeds, the better!!!
Good luck, and let us know how you make out or if you have any questions.

p.s. Pappy and Wanderer, give this a shot and let me know how you do.

Final Step

With a new "browser friendly" version of your resort feed ready, post an entry in any timeshare forum; it doesn't have to be timeshare-gateway.com. You can use tstips.com, timeshareforums.com, TUG, or any other (or more if you know of them). In the post, insert a link to the new feed. Since it is being converted into web readable format, the search engines that visit each forum will also reach this site and index the links to your ad. It may seem like an indirect approach, but the search engines don't stop at a site. If a link takes them to a working readable site, they will go there.
Here's an example of a link to the feed I added today for this forum.
Visit our timeshare forum. The actual link looks like http://feeds.feedburner.com/Timeshar...hareUsersGroup in the properties, but I simply typed the text, clicked on the "Insert Link" button (it looks like a blue and green circle in the editor when you are posting) and pasted the url to the link from FeedBurner. This last step is the most critical since this is what will send the search engines to their site to read your ad. Get it?!

Here's one last example using an actual resort feed from our classified ads website.
I just posted an ad to sell or rent Galleon Bay Club! Check out my ad feed. I also checked the "B" for bold when I had the text I wanted to make my link so it would stand out a little more in my post.

You shouldn't be violating any rules of any forum since all you are doing is promoting your own interest (your resort), if a forum has a problem with a link to a RSS feed, they are beeing way too particular. In fact, there's nothing secret about this technology. We've simply taken the necessary steps to make it available to you should you choose. If the forum doesn't want to let you post your links to your ad (or ad feeds), then they are restricting your use of the forum unreasonbly. As a minimum you can count on TimeshareGateway to allow your posts.

Direct links to your ad page

Considering my last post further; you should be able to link from a forum topic to your own ad page if you would rather.

Here's the same example but going straight to the ad for Galleon Bay Club.
I just posted an ad: Buy or Rent Galleon Bay Club! Check out my ad. I have priced this very aggressively and also checked the "B" for bold when I had the text I wanted to make my link so it would stand out a little more in my post.

There a number of ways to boost your ad's visibility on the net:

1. Create a browser friendly feed using FeedBurner as demonostrated at the beginning of this thread.
2. Link to your ad using your favorite forum(s)
3. Link to our resort review pages (Example Galleon Resort Review, use the URL of the page that displays your review). Since we feed the review pages with ads from our classified ads pages, you will get the benefit of others not only reading your review(s), but also have your ads for the resorts listed on the same page.
The more you link, the more visibility your ad will get.

Remember this one?

Folks,
Feedburner shows up more and more in search results for timeshare related searches. It only makes sense to populate that site with the RSS feeds from this one. If you have an ad, it only takes a minute to submit the resort page for that ad to Feedburner. This in turn doubles your exposure, and other services that watch feedburner will join in the listing game. Take a good read of the instructions above. Take a shot at it, and if you have questions, let us know. We're here to help!
