How do you handle "user fees?"

The resort I'm renting out charges a housekeeping fee. I elected to pay it "at check-in" but am wondering how others deal with this? I plan on it being paid out of the rent monies, not in addition to rent.

I could have paid when I made the reservation, but that's upfront cash out of my pocket

I do fully intend to disclose the fee to the renter, and maybe let them make the choice as to whether I pay it in advance on their behalf, or lower the rent by the appropriate amount and let them pay it at check-in.

It's important to me that the renter not get stuck with an extra bill they didn't know about.

Is this a TS resort? Usually, a unit is entitled to one cleaning per week owned. They would need to clean the unit after your use which is paid in the MF. Why would they need to get paid twice for cleaning on a whole week rental?
I have not been charged a cleaning fee on TS rentals, but it is usually additional on a wholly owned condo rental. HTH
